Substance Abuse and Admissions Criteria

Intensive Outpatient Program: Intensive outpatient treatment for substance abuse at the Integrative Life Center is a 12-15 hour (3 hours per day, 4-5 days) per week program designed for individuals who are or have been abusing substances, are medically and psychiatrically stable and do not require detoxification.

Admissions Criteria

1. Individuals must be ambulatory and able to go up and down stairs.
2. Individuals must be medically and psychiatrically stable.
3. There is no indication of withdrawal, or the symptoms of withdrawal can be safely managed in an outpatient setting.
4. The individual has a history of or a continuing pattern of substance abuse with the inability to maintain sobriety over a reasonable period of time.
5. The individual requires the structure and monitoring available in an IOP.
6. The individual shows an intensification of symptoms/behaviors related to the addiction with a high likelihood of relapse without close professional monitoring and support.
7. The individual has a non-supportive or unstable living situation creating an environment in which the individual is unlikely to remain sober without the structure and support of the intensive outpatient program.
8. The individual's condition requires a coordinated multi-modal treatment plan as well as the structure and intensity of services offered in an Intensive Outpatient Program.
9. The individual or his/her family/social support system understands and can comply with the requirements of an IOP, or the individual is likely to participate in treatment with the structure and supervision afforded by an IOP.
10. If the individual has a co-occurring condition, the condition can be safely managed in an outpatient setting.

Admission Process

1. Call the intake department at 615 891-2226 or Toll Free 877 915-3813 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and ask to speak to an admissions counselor.
2. Go to the ILC website at www.integrativelifecenter.com and complete the Confidential Admission Form. An admissions counselor will contact the individual upon receipt of the form.
3. A therapist or other health care professional may refer an individual to ILC. While the health care professional may make the first call, it is advisable that the individual requesting services also talk to an admissions counselor so that we may get additional personal information.
